How do I know which is the right international school for me?

Ask yourself what is motivating you to work internationally? From there, be thorough in your research to make sure the school you accept reflects your values and ethos. We pride ourselves on working with schools which offer a positive, healthy work environment where student and teacher well-being is at the heart of the school.

ITS will help in your research and questioning and will connect you with teachers already in the school so that you can hear first-hand experience about school life and the local area before accepting a position.

We will also take you through the contract step by step to ensure you fully understand the contractual agreement before signing.

How do the salaries compare with the UK?

There are many factors to consider when looking at salary and it depends on school and country. There is no set rule and so we advise candidates to compare their disposable income rather than gross salary as this figure will determine your quality of life and savings opportunities.

Our schools offer housing allowance or accommodation, annual flights, medical insurance, and many offer children’s education and paid utility bills, as well as bonuses.

We discuss the salary and package offered with each opportunity we present to you so that you are fully informed when considering your options.

She’s a people-person - passionate about what she does - and a consummate professional with a great understanding of the needs of schools and educators."

Amanda was quick to understand the kind of role I was looking for in the next step of my career and putting me forward for exactly the right job. She was always there to help throughout the process.

In a very short period of time she helped me secure a job in one of the top schools in the UAE whilst taking into consideration what I was looking for. She has restored my faith in recruitment agencies after going through so many and helping me find the right role for me in a reputable school.

I have ended up in a fantastic school and this is down to Amanda's matching of my skill set and needs with that of the schools. A high quality service that I would recommend to anyone who like me, wanted to take a chance and see more of the world. A massive thank you!"

Sarah Sankari, PYP Co-ordinator at Dwight, Dubai

"My experience with ITS Solutions has been brilliant from start to finish. I sent my CV To Amanda at ITS Solutions after she was recommended to me by a friend now working in Muscat. After receiving my CV, Amanda organised a phone call at a time convenient to me to discuss my teaching experiences and the type of school I wanted to work in.

Amanda’s advice had been invaluable throughout the whole recruitment process and she has answered any questions I have had - sometimes even over the weekend or late in the evening. Even advising me about visa documentation after I had been successful in getting a job in China!

If you are thinking about international teaching, I would most definitely recommend ITS Solutions!"

Emma Brown, English Teacher at Dulwich College, China

"I would strongly recommend Amanda to anybody who is currently looking to move into a new post. I received Amanda's details from my SLT lead and that evening I received a phone call from Amanda where she conducted a professional but friendly interview; gaining a deeper understanding of my teaching experiences and qualities. Amanda was very friendly and advised me that there was a post that she felt I was very suitable for at an amazing school. She proved to be incredibly diligent and clearly has excellent contacts as the following day I was advised I had an interview.

Where I feel Amanda has provided a unique service is that she didn't stop there. She provided me with an insight into the school, guided me through the interview process and made excellent suggestions based on her knowledge of the school. After successfully being recruited by the school, Amanda continued to contact me, discussing the contract details and offering me her best wishes on my first day in the new post. From my experience I can only give a positive insight; she is an excellent professional, who is thoughtful, diligent and has excellent contacts who trust her opinion."

Rob McCall, PE Teacher at Victory Heights, Dubai

"My experience with International Teacher Solutions, and Amanda Maxwell in particular has been nothing but positive. She was recommended by another colleague and her commitment to supporting my career has been great! Her whole approach is professional, but her attention to detail means it feels personalised too.

She has supported me in finding two roles, which suited my career goals, in both the short term and the long term.

Her communication is excellent, meaning she know exactly what I wanted and needed.

I would certainly recommend International Teacher Solutions to others."

Emmanuel Alexander, Deputy Head at Emirates International School, Dubai

I cannot thank you enough."

Ross McGrath, Primary Teacher at Modern English School, Cairo

"Finding a teaching job abroad was a daunting process as there are so many jobs out there. However, Amanda was absolutely amazing right from the beginning. She took time to get to know me as a person and as a teacher, and was able to recommend me to certain schools and advise me on what it would be like to work within each school. This helped me to narrow down my options and with the help of Amanda I was extremely well prepared for my interview.

I would recommend Amanda to anyone who is thinking of seeking employment abroad."

Jon Hughes Primary Teacher at BISAD, Abu Dhabi

"My experience with ITS was a trouble free and professional experience. I was contacted on time and regularly updated with the progress of events. I was given transparent information about the school and if they didn’t know the answer they found out and called me back. Being called back is not something most recruitment companies seem to understand…I would recommend them without hesitation.

You are in good hands."

Carl Bates, Head of School at Cambridge International School, Tashkent

"I have been teaching for 6 years in Ireland and the UK. I was referred to ITS by a friend. Amanda phoned me and went through my experience and gave me lots of advice based on what my preferences were. I am now a new head of Science in a world-renowned private school in China.

Amanda was always on hand to answer any questions, liaised with the school on my behalf and made the daunting move a simple and stress-free experience. The service she provided was not just limited to securing me a job, she was always on hand to answer any questions about China in general.

The aftercare she provided was also second to none. Having used other recruitment agents in the past, ITS is a highly professional service. I would not hesitate to recommend her to any of my friends or colleagues."

Triona Kelleher, Head of Science at Dulwich College, China

"I found the agency very helpful in finding a role that suited me. The recruitment process was very smooth and personalised and I was impressed with the advice I was given. I felt very comfortable when conversing with the agency as I felt there was attention to detail and that I could ask all the questions I needed to. I would recommend other teachers looking to work abroad to use this service as I felt they were efficient, specialist and supportive."

Harriet Chadwick, Humanities Teacher at Emirates International School, Dubai

"From the first time I spoke to Amanda at International Teacher Solutions I was impressed by the way that she worked. She not only discussed with me what skills I could offer to a potential employer abroad, but also what I was looking for in a school/employer to ensure she found the best possible match for me. I felt I was treated as an individual rather than a number (an experience I really hadn't encountered with other recruitment services).

Amanda has been there every step of the way to ensure that my transition to working in Dubai from the UK has been a smooth one.

I would definitely recommend any teacher looking to teach abroad to get in touch with Amanda first!"

Thank you again for all of your help! I’d happily recommend you to anyone. "

Tiffany Iles, Primary Teacher at British School of Muscat, Oman

"I can't express how much I love my job. It is by far the best job I have had in Dubai. I feel very lucky to be part of this growing school and to have my daughter alongside me is just wonderful. I wanted to find a job that I loved but most importantly I wanted to find a school where I could see my daughter grow and develop in. You have found this for me and I am so grateful.

Having a work life balance was also an important part of me looking for a new job and I am happy that I can maintain a healthy work life balance now. The workload is manageable and to be honest I don't mind putting in extra hours when needed as you are treated well with respect and professionalism. The leadership from the principal down to department head and SEN departments are very approachable, which creates a very positive environment to work in.

Thank you for all the wonderful work you do. Not only did you listen and understand my need to find a school that was suitable for me and my experiences, you also found the perfect place for my daughter. "

Pamela Woodall, EYFS Teacher at Arbor, Dubai

"We are settling in really well. Egypt is very different from the UK but the school has been so accommodating and helped us with any issues that we have had. Our accommodation is really nice and we were helped by people in the school to find it. The induction program at the school was excellent and all staff have been very helpful; it is a very friendly atmosphere and a team environment. Thank you again for helping us secure this position."
